Barley is an extremely sweet, young shepherd mix boy. He came from a high kill pound with his sister, (Greta) and he is now safe in a foster home. Barley is quite shy of humans..he is learning, slowly to be comfortable and to trust. He doesn't know quite how to be a normal pup..he hesitates, waits, lays down..he seems like he hasn't been very socialized, but we are working on it with him. Barley is not fond of the crate, we are hoping for a home where his owner is home alot or perhaps Barley wont' need to be crated. He's doing good on potty training, etc. Barley would probably do good with another dog, maybe a female..He was apparently a little food aggressive in the pound with his sister, he sometimes wouldn't let her eat..they both were kind of emaciated when they came in, so we think they were pretty neglected. Barley is probably only 10-12 mos old. He is an absolute lover. He will blossom with time. It's very gratifying to help the shy dogs..to see them make progress and learn to trust is very rewarding.
