Daisy is a sweet little special needs puppy. She was born with a possible neurological condition called, Cerebellar Hypoplasia.
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerebellar_hypoplasia_(non-human))It is a condition that causes tremors and uncoordinated movements. Their little bodies wobble when they walk and sometimes she falls over a bit. She was born in a litter of 7 puppies, 5 of whom are "normal" and she and a male litter mate were born with this condition. We don't know why or what caused it..was it a bacteria infection the mother had, it could have been the distemper/parvo vaccine the pound gave the mama..we just don't know. I have seen this condition in rescue cats before who have gone on to get adopted and live very happy lives..they just tumble around a bit more than normal. We don't know if these pups will improve with age at all, gain strength, etc. gain more coordination..or not. We do know they are very precious and it's heartwarming to watch them struggle along with their litter mates to be normal, active puppies..hobbling along, wanting to play just as much. They also have healthy appetites! They both need adoptive homes, with an understanding of their "disability". They are very charming and will probably always garner alot of attention, as people will be curious why they are moving around in a funny manner. We think they can live normal active lives..just a little clumsily. If you are interested in giving this special needs pup a home (and/or her special needs sibling) please contact us. You are welcome to meet her/them, read up and research the condition, prior to making a decision. Thank you!
