Setter / Basset Hound / Mixed (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Large Learn more about the Basset Hound.
Charlie is a young male, mixed breed dog, perhaps some kind of Setter, maybe Basset hound, maybe shepherd mix? We aren't sure, but he is a very beautiful combination..the only reason we say basset is his body is sort of long and he's a little shorter than a traditional setter or shepherd. Charlie is a very, very treat/toy motivated boy. If you are looking for a fetching dog, Charlie is your guy! He LOVEs to fetch toys, especially squeaky toys. Charlie is pretty puppyish yet and needs some structure and training. He is housbroke and crate trained although it would be great if he could go to a family that doesn't have to crate him alot. Charlie would do best with children who are a little older due to his exhuberant nature (can knock them down, etc.) but we think he would be an excellent family dog. He definitely wants to be active, an active family or athletic even would be great for Charlie. He loves to explore and smell new smells..he would do great at a dog park. He likes to play with other dogs. Not sure how he is with cats. He's lived with kids and other dogs. If you are interested in Charlie, please let us know.
Thank you.
