Mia is a very pretty 20-25 lbs possibly Moutain Cur /terrier mix breed. She is from Kentucky. She was brought to our attention to come to rescue as her owner couldn't keep her due to allergies.

Mia had been hit by a car, and was rescued by a good Samartian (former owner) that found her, brought her to the vet and got her on the road to recovery. She is fully recovered and seems to have no last effects from the car accident.

Mia is about 20-25lbs, around one year old, and she loves to be with other dogs. Mia can be quite skittish and takes a while to trust new situations or people. Other dogs help her feel more confident and she they allow her to blossom. We don't think she would make this progress without another dog, so we are desiring a home for her with another dog(s).  We also think she may need a 6 foot fence, as she maybe able to jump a four foot fence. Her foster says that she loves to run around the yard and has a high prey drive for squirrels, bunnies and birds, so we think she would be happiest and safest with a taller fence (5-6 feet).

We know that's a tall order sometime to need a high fence and another dog, but we know the right home is out there for her.

Here's some updates from her foster home:

This little one has been through a lot, but doesn’t let that stop her! She’s a bit cautious at first with new people, but we are working on it, and she comes around quickly. One second she was running away and a couple of treat bribes later and she’s taking them straight from your hand like an angel.

We are working on crate training and general obedience, but she’s learning quickly. I’m also happy to report, we’ve had no accidents in the house to date! She seems to let you know when it’s time to go out by going by one of the doors. She goes in the kennel easily and has made great progress in the short time we’ve had her. She is going to make someone very lucky. She absolutely lights up a room.
