Mountain Cur (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Medium
Katie is a very sweet Brindle Mountain Cur female. @ 36 lbs, @ 1-2 years old. Katie was previously kept outside on a chain in rural Kentucky so is just getting used to living inside, getting a lot of love and attention (She was fostered in a household for several weeks before coming to rescue) Now she is in foster here and doing really well. She is shy/skittish at first but warms up quickly with love and care. Katie probably needs a household with another dog and a fenced in yard to live her best life. Another dog will be a comfort to her and help her in her confidence. Katie is very careful about herself, and does not pee/poo inside even though she had been an outside dog. She is easy to care for, non demanding. Katie is a Mountain Cur breed, very well known in the southern US, not as well known up north here. It is a wonderful breed, basically originally bred to be hunting dogs, but they are the most wonderful family pets. They generally have go with the flow natures, they blend in well with almost any environment, other pets usually, great with kids. Katie is great with dogs and cats, she wouldn't hurt a fly!
