June is an incredibly friendly and affectionate little girl, has one of the loudest purrs, and is looking for a very special and understanding home. Junie had a rough first couple months of her life - she was rescued from a hoarding situation in rural MN where she had severe infections in both eyes. One eye ultimately had to be removed, and the other eye remains cloudy in one spot - but our vets say her vision remains fine in that eye. June also has a recurring respiratory condition (upper respiratory, not in the lungs) that is currently under control, but may flare up when she’s under stress or during change. That stress can be anything from a visit to the vet for a vaccine, or the move to a new foster home. June will cough and sneeze for a few days after the stress-inducing change/incident, but when provided a healthy and stable environment, the symptoms subside and she absolutely thrives! Despite her missing eye and her respiratory challenge, June hasn’t slowed down one bit, and she has one of the biggest hearts we've seen in our rescue program! She is playful, curious, and quite adventurous. June loves playing with the resident adult cats and never turns down a lap or a cuddle. Even though we're using the word "stress", let's be clear - Junie herself doesn't get stressed in personality or behavior... just her tiny body gets stressed! June is truly a one of a kind, beautiful, and unique cat who deserves the most loving of forever homes. She would do well in a quiet, stable home, perhaps with a kind, adult cat, or mellow dog. Very young children may be too much commotion for June - even though we're sure she'd love to zoom around and play with them. At this stage, June doesn't require a special diet or medical care - in an effort to keep her immune system functioning as well as possible, she is simply given an over the counter Lysine supplement. If you have an questions about June, her health, and her ongoing care, please reach out to us via email and we can have a more in-depth conversation to discuss if your home and lifestyle might be a good fit for June.
