Scarlett is one sweet, dignified lady who truly has the opportunity for a second chance in life! She's just 5 years old and was surrendered to a vet clinic in the south for euthanasia - Scarlett not only had a mouthful of diseased teeth and infected gums, but she was/is FIV positive, and her owners couldn'r spend any more money on her care.

So, we agreed to give her a full dental workup to have nearly ALL of her teeth extracted and she's feeling significantly better now! Unfortunately though, her FIV status will not and cannot change. But, FIV cats can often have a totally normal lifespan, and are still sweeties nonetheless!

FIV cats must be inside-only cats, and FIV cannot be transmitted to humans. FIV can be transmitted to other cats though deep puncture wounds or bites, so Scarlett needs a home where is is either the only cat, a companion to another FIV+ cat, or as a friend to a very sweet and kind cat who won't fight!

Scarlett has a wonderful purring motor, loves attention and cuddles, but is not needy or underfoot. She's just arrived into rescue a week ago, so we're looking forward to her coming our of her shell - our goal is to
