Beagle / Terrier / Mixed (short coat) : : Female (not spayed) : : Baby : : Medium
Do you long for the sound of the tiniest peets running across your floor in the morning? Carmella is both a SUPER cuddler and energetic and playful. She is roughly 4 months and a terrier beagle mix (best guess). She is currently about 15 pounds and we think she will be about 35-40 full-grown. She is a silly little gremlin who provides constant laughter and entertainment and then plops down on you for a nap. She is a quick learner and will be a great best friend for some lucky person or family. She is pretty good in her kennel, she usually just whines for a minute then falls asleep. She also likes to snuggle in the bed and is honestly too cute to resist sometimes. She adores her chew toys, but hasn't shown to be destructive with them yet. She is also already a Wild fan, and loves watching hockey with her foster dad.
Like literally all puppies she will benefit from training classes, but she is food motivated (with no signs of food aggression), so we think she will do great in classes. Some of her areas of growth are; she is currently teething so can be a little nippy, but enjoys a nice ice cube or frozen carrot more than your feet. She is doing good on potty training, but will likely regress a pinch in a new situation. She doesn't ask to go out yet, but she sniffs around manically so you usually have time to intervene. She loves our 3 yo lab, but he's a total beta and she walks all over him. An alpha in the home to teach her the rules might be beneficial. Last, she is VERY interested in our cats and while she doesn't growl or act aggressive, she very enthusiastically and playfully chases them (much to their irritation). We haven't seen too much of the negative beagle characteristics (running away, howling etc.), but she is curious. She is good on a leash and would benefit from lots of leash practice until she learns what her new environment is (she has the makings of an escape artist, although hasn't shown interest in trying to jump fences....just to explore).
She really is the sweetest little girl, and will settle right in in her new forever home! Whoever adopts her will be SO lucky, she is going to be a GREAT dog.
