Elvis is a sweet 7 year old, 33 lbs Herding breed mix? We aren't sure exactly his breed mix, so we are just guessing. He's very sweet!

Elvis was saved from a pound by advocates that we work with in Kentucky. He was likely a rural country outdoor dog.

While in the care of a foster home, prior to being transported to MN, Elvis started having seizures.

The foster brought him to the vet and the vet ran his bloodwork, but nothing was wrong with his bloodwork that would indicate why he is having seizures.

Elvis was put on Phenobarbital. When Elvis arrived in MN, we also had one of our vets check him out. They could not define why he is having seizures but suspected that it "could" be epilepsy. (Speculation).

Elvis does not have seizures when he is on Phenobarbital, as long as he has been in our care.

So he is a dog that may need to stay on this med for the remainder of is life. (Speculation).

Elvis is learning to live in a house and doing so much better with housetraining and understanding structure.

He is pretty mellow in the house, a little bit of a velcro dog. He enjoys being outside too.

We are looking for an understanding home for Elvis, that knows he might have to be on meds his entire life.

He is good with other dogs, cats and probably kids, but we think a home with adults or teenage or older kids would be best. Probably a quieter, gentler home. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't like y0unger dogs trying to play with him, he tries to move away from that. He seems fine with cats.
