Scooby is between 10-11 years old. He is a Min Pin Chihuahua and is about 5 pounds, and he's looking for a new home due to no fault of his own! He currently eats a mixture of wet and dry foods. Mainly dry but we mix it up a little bit to maintain his weight as he is already tiny!
Scooby has grown up in a household mainly consisting of two adults and three children. He was the only pet but he frequently hung out with his brother and other dogs. Scooby is currently living with a large dog and two cats, and gets along with them. Scooby has been around babies and other children as well. Slow introductions to new people make him more comfortable. but once he is comfortable with someone new, he stays that way around them. He will snip at people who come at him too quickly - he needs time to build trust. Scooby does bark around those he is unfamiliar with or if he hears loud noises outside. From his previous owner: "One trick we use with him if he doesn't stop when asked, is to have a water bottle nearby and shake it saying "water" this is usually enough to get him to stop. Sometimes spraying him a little is necessary. Over time, we would just say the word "water" and he stopped."
Scooby is trained to go outside but will have accidents in the house behaviorally sometimes, it is recommend to crate him initially until he can be trusted. Scooby loves blankets, he loves being under them and chilling. He loves cuddling and sitting on laps, especially under the blanket! He typically does not enjoy playing with toys. Maybe an occasional bone but otherwise low maintenance in the entertainment department! Scooby has never chewed anything he shouldn't.
Scooby loves going on walks. He will stop and pee on everything and sniff everything but really enjoys long walks. He also loves just being in the sunshine. In the winter Scooby prefers to be outside for just a moment or two as he gets cold easily. Scooby is good with car rides as well. He does have a fun personality if you are a small dog lover!
