Zoro is a very happy outgoing busy 18-month-old 19 lb male mighty mutt looking for his forever home. Originally a stray from South Dakota, we suspect he is a former reservation dog that found his way into the shelter. This guy does not know the definition of stranger, human or canine. If allowed, he will immediately crawl up into anyone’s arms and stay while watching the world he loves around him. He wants nothing more than to join his owner on any adventure they are willing to bring him on.

At the park, he tries to join the kids on the playground equipment because it looked like they were having fun and, they had balls they were playing with! After that adventure, he joined a group of guys at their picnic table and shared a drink, some cuddling, and couldn’t help but sneak in a few licks (he prefers the face). Zoro does bark at noises he isn’t familiar with but is learning fast and the triggers for barking are much less the more comfortable he gets in the home. He also can be interrupted from barking easily with a toy and gentlereminder of “quiet.”

Crate training is going very well. He makes a small fuss as you are leaving but does settle down. He absolutely won’t mess his crate. He is also potty trained and will wait by the door if he must go out. He doesn’t hate having his nails done or taking a bath and a nice brushing, but his coat won’t require a lot of maintenance overall. When outside, he enjoys a good critter hunt. Watching thesquirrels and birds in the back yard = good dog TV! Inside, resident cats are fascinating. He is not dangerous to them, but his higher energy is intimidating to my cats and if they run, he does enjoy a good chase. The chase can be interrupted and redirected however, so with patience and training, that should improve.

When everyone is settled, sitting by a human and just snuggling while watching TV is also treasured. Overall, this smart loving little guy needs a home that will share the wonders of the world and guide him on his journey to being the perfect companion dog. Embark breed testing was done on Zoro's sister from the same litter, and came back as this: 18% Pug, 17% Chihuahua, 15% German Shepherd, 13% Cattle Dog, 12% Keeshond, and 20% super mut t
