Meeko is a young adult purebred Norwegian Elkhound. Due to unforseen circumstances for his owner, they have to surrender him to rescue as they are no longer able to care for him. He is a well loved dog, and is used to being a little spoiled. This breed is quite active so we are looking to place him in a home that understands that and can give him plenty of expression of his energy. We are not sure how he is with cats, he might have a high prey drive, and he gets along with other dogs at the dog park, but we are not sure how compatible otherwise as he was the only pet. So might be best to have him in a one dog only household until we can further evaluate. Or we can test him with your existing pet. We are also looking for a foster home for Meeko and of course ultimately an adoptive home. If you are interested in either of those for him, please contact us.
